Maya Barua started teaching at Achievement First in Brooklyn and later joined Rocketship in 2015 as a Kindergarten Humanities teacher at Rocketship Mosaic (ROMO). She taught for 4 years while also serving as a Rising Leader and Common Planner for the Humanities team at ROMO. In 2019, Maya rose to become an assistant principal at ROMO and celebrated the school’s recognition as a California Distinguished School in 2020. This past year, Maya stepped into a regional role as an achievement manager where she extended her reach to support a number of school leaders across the region.
