Tawana received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Alabama State University and her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, along with a Principal License, from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She brings 17 years of educational experience to RNNE, many of which include key academic leadership positions. During her time at Milwaukee College Prep, Tawana served as a teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels, Academic Dean, and Principal. Tawana is an instructional leader, who has closed the achievement gap in both ELA & Math. Two years ago, Tawana moved to Nashville, Tennessee from Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her husband and two daughters. Since then, she has served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Valor Collegiate Academies, an intentionally diverse and academically rigorous school in Nashville. Tawana is excited to continue to lead, collaborate, and serve alongside the entire community at RNNE. She is a lifelong learner and is excited for this next journey in her career.
