Rocketship Rocketeers Shine in the Hour of Code!

This month, our third and fourth graders at both Rocketship Wisconsin schools took a giant leap into the future during Computer Science Education Week, participating in the Hour of Code. Thanks to the generous support of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, our Rocketeers explored the world of coding and set the stage for a lifelong love of STEM.
It was a moment to remember, as CBS 58 joined us at Rocketship Southside Community Prep to capture the excitement and joy of our students mastering new skills. From writing their first lines of code to collaborating with dedicated Northwestern Mutual volunteers, our Rocketeers lit up with pride as they unlocked the potential of technology.

This event is a testament to Rocketship Wisconsin’s commitment to providing enriching experiences that go beyond the classroom. We believe every student deserves opportunities to grow, dream, and discover their unique talents.

To Thomas Rosenthal of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation and Rocketship Wisconsin Board Member and Northwestern Mutual Vice President Loren Morris, thank you for making this day possible. Your partnership is helping our students envision a brighter future, and we are deeply grateful for your dedication to our mission.

As we approach the end of the year, we’re reminded of the incredible community that fuels our work. Your support makes moments like this possible. Thank you for believing in Rocketship and for standing with us in our journey to transform education in Milwaukee.
